FAQ & Resources

Did You Know?

If you are familiar with the benefits of skillful massage, great! If massage is something that you are unsure of, you are not alone. Let’s answer some common questions.

What types of massage therapy do you offer?

I specialize in mobile massage therapy for individuals who are looking for relaxation and tension relief. I’m one of the few mobile massage therapists offering MLD (manual lymphatic drainage) for post-operative clients in the area. Other than massage, I look for educational opportunities for groups, helping others discover just how beneficial massage can be. Having personally experienced increased mobility and range of motion from skillful massage, I enjoy every opportunity to let others know what is possible.
My background working with individuals with specific needs that are often overlooked has informed how I practice. I can travel with a standard table, a comfortable massage therapy chair, or I can adapt to use the client’s own home furnishings to create a comfortable and sacred place in which they can be cared for. When working with groups, I can demonstrate the adaptive possibilities that make the benefits of massage easily accessible.

How do I book an appointment?

If you already have my contact information, feel free to text me directly. We can set up a time that works for you. If you have found my website and are interested in my services, you can use the “Request Appointment” button. That way I have a little information about what you are in need of and can contact you directly to schedule.

Do you offer gift certificates for massage therapy?

Yes, I offer gift certificates that make the perfect gift for any occasion. Ask about the Golden Ticket gift card- a signature service that is a top of the line option for the discerning client.

What should I expect during my first massage session?

Your first session will include a brief consultation to clearly understand your needs, followed by a customized massage experience. If table massage works for you, I will arrive with time before our session to set up. Set up does not count as time used toward your chosen length of massage. If you request a 90 minute massage (my favorite), you will get 90 minutes of massage time. We will target any areas of concern that you note during our time together. While I may not be able to resolve all tension or discomfort in one session, I will accomplish everything possible within that time.

Resources

I enjoy coming across skilled professionals that I can recommend to others. Here, you can find some of my favorite practitioners and some of their skills that I would like to celebrate to others who might need them.

Excellent Massage in Hixson, TN – Lexi @ Healing Vibes Massage & Bodywork

Lexi and I attended school for massage together and spent a great deal of time together during clinical hours. She has had the benefit of skillful mentors and provides an excellent service!

Oncology Massage in Dalton, GA – Danielle @ Mountain Massage

Danielle began practicing as a massage therapist in order to benefit the clients she was seeing at Peeples Cancer Institute. She has a practice set up in their beautiful facility that is easy to access.

Barter

There are services that I would pay for as I need them, but would enjoy working out a bartered trade of services with the right skilled person. Hour for hour rates are observed by both parties and other costs (materials, extras, etc.) can be part of the negotiation.

Cosmetology or Salon Services

I do need haircuts and occasional styling services, and would love to help you with your own self-care.

Pedicures

Occasionally, getting a pedicure is just right. If you are a skillful provider, I would love to work something out.

Personal Training

If you are a personal trainer, and especially if you have experience with coaching diabetic or post-operative recovery, you might be the right kind of person to trade services with. This may be for myself or my husband, or both, depending on our agreement.

Handyman Services

We live in an old home that often needs skilled attention, and if you are a skilled handyman who could use regular massage services, I’m sure we can work out a fair barter.

Others?

If you have another skill or service that you feel might be of value, feel free to reach out and ask if it’s something our household might need.
